Manager |
Worker whose activity is characterised by a high level of professional competence and decision-making, directly related with the enterprise's objectives. On what concerns the Public Administration, are considered as managers the following job profiles: general managers, hospital doctors-in-chief, holders of University chairs, magistrates, researchers, bishops. As for the army, high-ranking officers (with a level higher than lieutenant colonel or similar positions). |
Manual worker |
Worker performing an activity that requires technical-practical knowledge. Manual workers are grouped into: skilled workers, semiskilled workers, general workers. |

Mediterranean maquis |
Vegetation typical of the Mediterranean seaside, constituted by evergreen forest plants (cluster pine, cypress, ilex, cork oak, etc.). To these are associated, principally, evergreen shrubby plants (mastic tree, laurel, myrtle, strawberry tree, oleander, etc.). These woods are not subject to regular cut downs for the production of timber. |
Medium-sized enterprise (trade) |
In the commercial sector, a medium-sized enterprise is that enterprise that has between three and five persons employed (employees or self-employed). |

Member of cooperative |
Is a member of any production or service co-operative, regardless the sector of economic activity. Members of co-operatives are not engaged under a regular contract and are paid according to the quantity of work performed and/or a share in the co-operative's profits. |
Members of boards and officers in enterprises |
Within an enterprise (and local unit) some persons may have some specific qualifications (proprietor, partner, etc) or hold some specific offices (member of the board, chief executive officer, etc). Mode of transport |
The mode of transport is defined for outward flows as the active means of transport with which goods are presumed to leave the statistical territory of the Community for exports or of the Member State of dispatch for dispatches.
