Waste

Waste refers to materials that are not prime products (i.e. products produced for the market) for which the generator has no further use for own purpose of production, transformation or consumption, and which he discards, or intends or is required to discard.

Waste management

Waste management means the collection, transport, treatment and disposal of waste, including after-care of disposal sites.

Waste water treatment

Process to render waste water fit to meet applicable environmental standards or other quality norms for recycling or reuse.

Wet land

Non-wooded sites either partially, temporarily or permanently water-logged, the water of which may be fresh, brackish or saline, on blanket or raised peatlands. The water may be either stagnant or running, and is usually shallow, especially if it is saline.

Whole milk

Milk which has been subject to one heat treatment or an authorized treatment of equivalent effect by a milk processor and whose fat content is either at least 3,50 % naturally or has been brought to at least 3,50 %.

Wood

Area covered with trees and/or forest shrubs. Also considered woods are those areas where, despite the presence of trees/shrubs, the land is used, in part, used for marginal herbaceous cultivations.

Work activity

Any kind of work for which a payment, profit, wages, salary is received.

Working hours, set by contract

Number of hours worked by employees employed in full-time jobs. Hours that are paid without the relative work (such as holidays) are not included.
