Description:

Formulas for the calculation of indicators:

  • Old-age index: percentage ratio between the population aged >65 years and the population in the 0-14 age group.
  • Total dependency ratio: percentage ratio with the numerator being the sum of the population aged 0-14 years and the population aged >65 years and the denominator being the population aged 15-64 years.
  • Juvenile dependency ratio: percentage ratio between the population aged 0-14 years and the population aged 15-64 years.
  • Elderly dependency ratio: percentage ratio between the population aged >65 and the population aged 15-64.
  • Turnover of population of working age: percentage ratio between the population of the 60-64 age group and the population of the 15-19 age group.
