Resident population |
The resident population of a given Commune (and, by analogy, in other territorial divisions) comprises persons normally living in the Commune. Persons who are temporarily living in another commune or abroad are also included in the resident population, provided that the period of absence does not exceed one year.The population registers supply the data for the calculation of the population and its changes. The latter are determined by natural changes (registrations due to birth and cancellations due to death) and by migration (registrations and cancellations). The resident population at the end of the year is obtained, for each commune, by adding to the Census data the natural and migration balances relating to the period between the Census and the end of the year of reference. |
